We caught up with up and coming snowbike star Cody Matechuk and talked with him about his new build for the season. Cody set out to build the ultimate freeride snowbike and it looks like this bike hit the nail on the head.

The bike started life as a '17 Yamaha YZ450F that Cody raced on dirt throughout the season (Cody is an accomplished racer in the Canadian racing scene.) Bolted up to that YZ is the super trick Yeti Snow MX 120" kit. Cody prefers the 120" as he's a frequent flyer and can throw some nasty whips on a bike.

In the handling department Cody opted to run a Renthal Fatbar 604 bend with Zeta 30mm risers. RMR Suspension took care of the valving in both the front forks and the raptor shocks out back. We tried to get some specs out of Cody but all we got was "Springs, valving, and a few more tricks in there."

Ergonomics are also an important part of a snowbike build, on Cody’s bike is the super plush Seat Concepts comfort seat and a Pro Armor tether. Fastway foot pegs add a larger platform for snowbiking.

To push the power output of the YZ up a few notches a LRX performance head was installed along with a set of HotCams camshafts. The all new RAZE Wingman ECU handles all the fueling needs.

Aside from the go-fast goodies this bike is sitting pretty with a super clean red & blue scheme with powdercoat and anodizing throughout.  Devol radiator guards and skid plate keep the bike's vitals protected.

This build turned out awesome and we can't wait to see some footage of Cody sending it.

Cody would like to personally thank his sponsors for making this build possible:

"I have to throw a huge shout out to The guys at Cycleworks foothills and Yamaha as well as Yeti Snow mx for truly making this all happen! They are the base foundation of this program that we were able to build off of first bringing in the brilliant mind as well as my dad Rod at RMR suspensions, the guys at RAZE moto paired with LRX performance Paul Lavoie making this bike a rocket! TOBE and Fox head have me covered head to toe with the best of the best riding gear out there! Devol Engineering and MOTOVAN coming together to get all the little peices that bring the package together! BIKE BINDERZ always keeping my bikes locked down safe! And Justified cultures keeps me looking my best off the track. Lime nine pulled this whole bike together at the final stages to finish the project off being my favourite bike of all time! Cochrane Floors has helped out big time making this X Games road a lot more manageable, highly recommend checking them out if your in the renovation game! True professionals and last but not least Toyo tires getting me safely to all my secret riding spots!" - Cody Matechuk
